I have a Pioneer Premier upper end Head Unit with tape player.
This head auto updates your location so that you always have current stations while you
travel.. It does not do much good up here in the northern woods though..:) This head has its' own
hand held remote that will control the six disc shuttle that is mounted in the trunk.
For Power at the moment she has a Pioneer GMH 100 driving the front MTX
Thunderpro components in the doors. The twin 15" JBL GTX subs that are placed in
a custom tuned isobaric enclosure. This is ported up to the rear deck with a 4 inch port.
These Power hungry twin 8lb drivers are now powered with a high end Sony amp pushing
all she can at 580 peak rms.. "Not Enough" grunt.
Keep in mind that there was only one hole drilled in my Cardinal Red Baby and this
was for the #4 cable from the battery to the splitter for the amps.
Future plans are to upgrade the sub amp to one that produces 800 watts rms at
.5 ohm and be stable.. I will have to install stiffening caps to keep the power hungry amps
at about 14 volts dc. This will help me not to burn up the alternator.
